Holiday time! No hurry, no worries.

 

Kesä moi!

Ensimmäinen lomapäivä on takana. Aamu alkoi vapaiden kunniaksi kaunistautumishoidolla ja kahvilassa mansikkajuustokakku herkuttelulla. Kävin myös kirjastossa päivittämässä kesälukemistoa. Mukaan tarttui Toven matkassa -kirja (muistoja Tove Janssonista). Meren rannalla lomailijalle sopivaa luettavaa. Maltankohan odottaa ensi viikkoon asti lukuelämyksiä vai pitäisikö jo aloittaa :)

Loppupäiväni meni  kodinhoito hommien pyörteissä ja kirppiskamoja pakkaillen. Vihdoin on aikaa mennä myymään vanhat roinat pois. Kyytiä vanhoille energioille ja uutta elämän virtaa sisään. 

Puuhakas päiväni päättyi riippukeinuun ja minitorkkuihin. Olemisen ja tekemisen vapautta. Edessä on paljon ajatonta aikaa, ihmettelyä ja ystävien kanssa reissailua. Niistä on hyvät lomat tehty.

Legendary Kallio (Helsinki) flea market 28.7.11

Flea market and general outdoor fun, thu 28.7., 14-20 at Pengerpuisto and vicinity on Torkkelinmäki. Children's fleamarket at nearby Torkkelinpuisto.

Come to sell, buy, meet your neighbours and/or just to have a great time! No fees or reservations required for sellers. Just take your own table or blanket and choose a spot of your liking. At nearby Torkkelinpuisto, a children's fleamarket: recycle toys, kids clothes and children's books. Remember to bring your friends and family, gramma and the kids -the more the merrier. Street musicians are warmly welcome too.

Age of elegance -photography exhibition

Sateiseen sunnuntaihin tai muuten vaan harmaaseen päivään saa piristystä valokuvanäyttelyistä. Helsingin Taidehallissa on tällä hetkellä Tyylin aika-näyttely, jossa visuaalisia elämyksiä tarjoaa suomalaisen värivalokuvauksen uranuurtaja Claire Aho (s.1925).

Näyttely koostuu Ahon eleganteista ja herkullisista muoti-, kansi- ja mainoskuvista 1950- ja 60 -luvuilta.
Näyttely on avoinna 29.4-7.8.11. Vielä ehtii :)

FASHION, ADS AND COVERS 1950–1967

Relishing the style of the 1950s and 60s, Kunsthalle Helsinki presents the first-ever exhibition of the fashion, advertisement and cover photographs of Claire Aho, a leading photographer of that age. Through colourful and humorous pictures, Age of Elegance recreates the atmosphere of a period when elegant couture creations were replaced by jazzy Marimekko stripes, when the supremacy of the garter belt began to crumble and the latest high-tech craze was the mechanised kitchen.
